An Exciting Find...

For years I have been telling my kids about sailing with Uncle Stan.  Unfortunately, I couldn't find the pictures I knew I had taken.  Then...EUREKA...in a storage box of books...there was the little photo album from our September 1988 trip to Sarasota!  Charli is almost 3 and Drew is 13 months old.

It just keeps getting better!

I had an email from Renee today and she is planning a wonderful brunch for us for Sunday morning.  The cost of the brunch will be $8 per person with an additional/optional $4 per person for mimosas and bloody Marys.  

I also want to offer a big THANK YOU to Sandy & Ralph for hosting this event at their home.

4 Weeks and counting! Have you made your plans?

Here is the latest information, the crowd has grown and we can't wait to see everyone!

Planning

We are moving forward with the reunion planning and we are super excited! We will kick off the reunion in traditional Summers style with a barbecue by the bay at Jo's. The "official" start date and time is 2:00pm on Saturday, September 4 at the Lowe residence on Siesta Key. The address is 6531 Peacock Rd, Sarasota, FL 34243. We will be emailing people with more information as well, so stay tuned in the next few weeks. Not long now!

What are your travel plans?

Wow...I just realized September is getting close. I really need to get our reservations made.  Steve and I are planning to spend a couple of days in St. Augustine, then meet the kids for a couple of days at Universal Studios before arriving in Sarasota on Friday, September 3rd.  We are really looking forward to the trip.  (yeah...I know Charli (24), Drew (22), and Jordan (25) are a bit old to be called kids...but that's just how it is)

How do I post to this blog?

Thanks to Dawn for pointing out that posting to the blog is not as easy as I thought. It looks like in order to post/comment you must create a blogspot account. If anyone finds an easier way to do this... please let me know.

Here are the steps needed to create an account:

Click on "sign in" (which is in the top right corner of the screen) enter your email address (no password) and click the blue "sign in" button.

At the bottom right of the screen, click 'create an account now' and then follow the directions. On the second page, select 'skip this step, create blog later' if you don't wish to create a new blog.

You will receive a "verification email" from Google. Open the email and click on the link and your account will be activated.

At this point you should able to post comments.

Welcome to the Summers Clan Reunion Blog!

As we are still months away, we know it is difficult to commit to attending. However, if you could give us a general "I hope to attend" or "I know I can't attend" or "you really expect me to hang out with you people?" it would really help us in our planning.
